  • What is artificial intelligence in healthcare?

    AI is a set of techniques that make it possible to continuously analyze very large amounts of data, detecting trends or making predictions that help human clinicians decide. In healthcare, it can help more precisely quantify the risks of a procedure, predict how a body will react to different anesthesia techniques, or spot a weak signal in post-op monitoring. It never replaces a doctor, it supports them.

  • How is the data used by AI collected?

    The data used is primarily what you voluntarily share as part of your Mensana journey: questionnaires, clinical assessments, biometric measurements recorded during your preparation or at the hospital. In some cases, connected devices may be used (for example a watch to record your heart rate or analyze your sleep), always with your explicit consent and with the possibility of withdrawal at any time.

  • Is my data shared or sold?

    Your identifiable data is never sold, nor shared with a commercial third party in a form that would allow you to be identified. However, in aggregated and anonymized form, it may feed the improvement of our clinical decision-support models, this is the standard in healthcare data science, and it is what allows medicine to progress for tomorrow's patients. You retain, at all times, the right to consult, correct, or withdraw your data, within the limits provided by law (including Quebec's Law 25).

  • What is pharmacogenomics?

    Pharmacogenomics studies how a person's genes influence their response to medications. Some people metabolize drugs quickly, others slowly. Some feel side effects strongly, others barely. With Mensana, a simple genetic test may be offered before your surgery to better choose, with your anesthesiologist, the molecules best suited to your biology.
